The importance of the Transcendental Meditation and its effectiveness to combat stress and its effects of tiredness or irritation, forgetfulness, and palpitations with no apparent cause, underlined by the president of the Institute Maharishi Science and Technology of Peru, Javier Ortiz Cabrejos.
He explained that Transcendental Meditation is “a very ancient technique that serves to soothe the emotions of the people and their daily practice for 20 minutes in the mornings and evenings produces a deep state of rest and relaxation”.
He added that his methodology is very easy to learn and anyone can practice, because it does not require any kind of concentration or effort; it is not a diet, nor a philosophy, nor a lifestyle or religion, nor does it require any change of beliefs.
With Transcendental Meditation, he continued, » the people have a physiological functioning more relaxed, greater reduction in anxiety and lower stress job. In addition, it reduces the consumption of oxygen, which means that the body becomes a unique state of deep rest.
Another of its virtues is that it reduces the production of hormones that create stress, such as adrenaline, noradrenaline and cortisol.
Ortiz Cabrejos reported other side the Institute with the Maharishi Science and Technology of Peru has developed in the last ten years a program of free education of the Transcendental Meditation technique and Maharishi Yoga in colleges in the State of Cusco, Puno, La Libertad, Lima and Callao, which has trained more than 40 thousand students from fifty colleges.
The results were the improvement of school performance, the development of creativity and intelligence, increased concentration and speed to learn, greater understanding of classes, better behavior and better relationships between the students and their parents.
