LUMINESCENT CITY PROJECT
The luminescent city project (which also includes the luminescent tree project) is a methodology or procedure through which a town or city can appear luminescent at night, both internally and externally, including buildings, all types of infrastructures, urban furniture , trees and cars.
This procedure is also applicable at a particular level.
The novelty of the luminescent city project lies in the fact that there is currently no luminescent town or city in the world. There is no town or city that is illuminated in darkness by alternative means to conventional and commonly established, where electric power is used as an essential model for the emission of light. And there is not, in the same way, a tree in the World that is luminescent.
This project, in its application, aims to promote a substantial change in the way of life of people, towns and cities, allowing economic and energy savings, in addition to promoting the development of sustainable tourism and the economy, using these methods that provide sustainable energy.
Essentially, it is the application of liquids, varnishes, resins, enamels, or similar, transparent or semitransparent, in conjunction with light, luminescent or photoluminescent, non-toxic or radioactive particles, such as, for example, those from rare earths like the strontium aluminate.
The Aluminato de Estroncio only needs an exposure in the light of a few minutes to emit light for 12 hours.
Applying it in a town or city, this can mean a tourist, economic and energy revolution.
Taking into account the cost of electric power that people and public entities support, the savings that would result from the fact that both facades, furniture, cars, interior walls, furniture and any material object were luminescent, would be considerable, without talking about the benefits related to the conservation of the environment.
In terms of security, the luminescence of these objects could positively affect a decrease in criminal acts that occur at night, since criminals always seek the shelter of darkness to undertake their criminal acts. In addition, the income of companies and existing businesses would be multiplied in the first instance, allowing a significant increase in employment, favoring the creation of new businesses and therefore, enabling the reduction of work stoppage.
The free publicity generated would also be of enormous consideration. And it would not only affect the first city in the world to be luminescent, but its province, community and country, in which the first luminescent cities of the world and the first luminescent trees would appear.
The possibility of becoming the first town or luminescent city in the world, would imply that media from all over the world would make known this relevant fact, which, apart from the intrinsic publicity for the city, would attract a multitude of people from all over the world. places and there would be a concatenation of benefits resulting from this great tourist influx, because in addition to the obvious income that these tourists will provide to the city, these same tourists will make known in their countries the novelty they have witnessed.

In addition, we must bear in mind that this luminescent phenomenon appeared as a clear reference in the forests and in the city of Pandora, the highest grossing film of all time, Avatar. Film that will be shot three or four sequels more. The first one will be released in 2018, probably at Christmas that year.
The possibility of being able to connect the movie Avatar and its aftermath, with a city that is luminescent, including its trees, is not that it seems possible, but very likely, since a luminescent city becomes itself the scene of any film , both for its novelty and its future appearance. And taking into account that the luminescence that appears in the film becomes a reality, it would not be surprising that the producers of it decided to shoot some scenes and even consider the possibility of releasing some of its parts wherever they make it happen.
Already in itself, becoming something unique implies a tourist revolution and a great publicity. But if we add the ingredient of the movie Avatar, the benefits could be incalculable.
As the first town or luminescent city in the world, there would be the largest cluster of luminescent buildings in the world, and therefore, it could be inscribed in the Guinness Book of Records. This would make the city appear in this famous publication, with all its direct and indirect benefits.
In addition and taking into account the great importance that are taking all measures that are carried out in favor of respect for the environment, could become an international example of sustainable energy saving. Currently there are investigations in bioluminescence to make plants emit light from biological variations. Companies like Biglow, which has created the first luminescent plant, which they have called Starlight Avatar, researchers from Academia Sinica in Taiwan and Navinal Cheng Kung University in Taipei and Tainan, as well as researchers Daan Roosegarde and Alexander Krichevsy, try make plants and trees luminescent. As a base, any type of varnish, enamel, resin or similar can be used, provided it is transparent and for external use. Preferably without UV filter. There are for all types of materials, so we will use the default for facades, for metals, for wood …
Any non-toxic can be used as luminescent particles. But it is advisable to use strontium aluminate, since by its nature and qualities it will offer us the best result, including its application in trees.
The mixture of luminescent particles to be diluted in a kilo of the base product can be variable, depending on the luminescence that is to be achieved. I recommend a mixture of approximately 33% of luminescent particles per kilo of base product. You have to stir the mixture well so that the particles are evenly distributed throughout the product.
The control of the product and especially of the luminescent particles must be precise, since it is what most expensive the application process.
On the facades, the cheapest base product is the water-sealant-fixative liquid. This product also offers the possibility of painting on top with conventional paints.
For metals, any transparent product special for metals would be used. And for wood, the ones applicable to this material, and it is even possible to apply some varnish or fire-retardant enamel.
In the case of wanting to make a car appear luminescent, it would be necessary to apply to a liquid base transparent and special for metals or applied to the existing paint, the same proportion of luminescent particles described above.

And I think that we should not wait for special moments to be excited, because every moment is special if we know how to appreciate it.
In this case, the bases to be used must be entirely of natural origin: natural resins, natural varnishes with the possibility of being flame retardant, natural lime, natural liquid latex … And non-toxic luminescent particles, non-radioactive and respectful with the environment.
The base of the luminescent mixture would be natural resins, natural varnishes or other products that offer adherence and resistance to water of natural origin, transparent and that would allow perspiration.
If you want to use a natural bleach that allows you to increase the light output, we would use natural lime to paint the trunk and branches of the trees, just as they did in the past and even in our times, to protect trees from different pests. Another option to whiten the trunk and branches of trees is to apply non-toxic liquid natural latex. Another way of doing this, which does not change the daytime appearance of the trees, is to apply the mixture of resin and luminescent particles directly on the trunk and branches.
Both natural resins, such as lime and natural latex, offer added natural protection to our trees. In fact, they themselves are segregated in the natural world to perform those functions. So we find that the application of these products to give them luminescence, not only does not harm them, but offers them added protection.
The luminescent mixture, which would be applied in the second instance, assuming that it was decided to apply a bleach like natural lime, can also be variable depending on the luminosity that we want to obtain. But it would be advisable to mix around 33% of strontium aluminate for each liter of transparent base. Remove so that the particles are spread evenly throughout the product.
