Try by The XX
My sister introduced me to The XX when I was a sophomore in high school. When I listen to The XX, I am able to calm down and relax. I could listen to them all day, over and over, and not get annoyed of their sound.
The first song I heard by the band was “Together,” which actually happened to be in the movie “The Great Gatsby.” This movie was grand, however the book was a lot better. Whenever I listen to The XX it reminds me of my passion for reading. Anyone who discovered The XX will find them just as fascinating, I’m sure of it.
Spirit Cold by Tall Heights
I feel like I’m floating in the middle of the ocean. The sun shining on my face warming my skin and the wooden surface of the raft. As the sky fades to the footage of Tall Heights’ live performance, I imagine the sound of waves hitting the raft. This video gives me that pit in my stomach that only comes when listening to or seeing something purely beautiful. Chills run up my spine, and I press replay.
Born to Get Wild by Steve Aoki Featuring will.i.am.
Going to Planet Fitness to workout after a long day of school and work doesn’t always sound too pleasing. In fact, I would rather go home to lay on my couch with my dog and binge-watch shows on Netflix or, better yet, take a nap! There’s nothing worse than going to the gym unmotivated. For the days I’m feeling unmotivated, playing the right type of music is key to getting moving. This song not only makes me more enthusiastic to do cardio but also gets the blood pumping! Plus, who doesn’t love will.i.am from the famous Black Eyed Peas?
