A person with filofobia you may experience something like an anxiety attack when you are in the presence of a person of the opposite sex. If this continues, the fear can cause you to start to get away from people with whom they have an emotional connection.
It is not known what causes this fear, but it is believed that it has to do with bitter memories of past relationships. Whatever the cause, it is possible that a person with this phobia can overcome this fear, and have normal relationships.

“” Although there is not a cause in itself, it is believed that this is due to some kind of emotional turmoil relating to love in the past.
“” The person may have had a relationship that ended badly, and not have been able to move forward. For that person, all relationships represent the pain or rejection. In order to avoid feeling that pain again, the person may try to avoid relationships. It is more common in women than in men.
You can use the desensitization therapy, cognitive or behavioural therapy, hypnotherapy, neurolinguistic programming, and antidepressant medications.
“” 1. Desensitization therapy.
Introduces a person to the human interactions to which it is insensitive to them. The therapist may even use computers to simulate this interaction, and help a person prepare for a real-life situation.
“” 2. Cognitive-behavioral therapy.
The therapist tries to help a filofóbico to understand and recognize your thoughts. Then, when the negative thoughts appear in your mind, the patient can stop them. The idea behind cognitive behavioral therapy is that a person’s thoughts affect his behavior. Through the formation of his thinking, a person can learn to change their behavior.
“” 3. Hypnotherapy. Hypnosis has been shown to help remove the negative associations that can trigger panic attacks. However, because hypnosis is based on the patient relinquishes control to the therapist during the treatment, their use in the treatment of filofobia could be problematic.
