Meditation of the 7 of march, by Regnum Christi – Omnia

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Christ, our King. Thy Kingdom come!

Introductory prayer (for me in the presence of God)

Jesus, once again you have me here, in your presence. Increase my faith, Lord. You well know that I believe, but my faith is weak and small; you know that I find it hard to remain faithful in times of trial and to have you present in the moments of prosperity. You know what I pay that am I to complain and slow to thank. Increases please be my faith.

Increases my confidence. You know how much it costs me to leave all my things to your will… Even more!, you know how much I cost myself fully in your hands. Well do you know the attachment I have to my way of doing things, to my way of thinking, my way of carrying my life forward with my own criteria, most of the times, they are not yours. Help me to trust You.

It increases my love. You know that it costs me to discover you in the people that surround me, especially in those that I find unpleasant. Help me to love you so much that to be able to see you in everyone, in everything and at all times, that I fall in love with both of You, Jesus, that you all speak to me of You. It increases my love.

Gospel of the day (to guide your meditation)

From the holy Gospel according to saint Matthew 6, 7-15

At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: “When you pray, do not speak much, as the heathen, who imagine that by dint of much talking they will be heard. Do not imitate, because the Father knows what you need before you ask him. This is how you are to pray:

Our father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; lead us not into temptation and deliver us from evil.

If you forgive the faults of men, you too will forgive you your heavenly Father. But if you do not forgive men, neither will your Father forgive you your faults.”

The word of the Lord.

Meditate on what God says in the Gospel.

To be the son of the Father.

Father… So he invites me to the Gospel call. You, the creator of all the stars and planets; You that I thought about with love from all eternity. You that, whatever happens, whatever you do, never stop being my Father.

You are my Father even when I don’t behave like your son. You stand faithful on the cross with open arms to welcome always to all your children.

You’re a Parent and you have to see that so many times I don’t know how to be brother of the other. There is No pain greater for a parent than to see their children fight like animals, are used as things and kill as enemies.

Father, forgive me for not having behaved always as a true son of yours; for having spent so many times indifferent to my suffering brother or sister asking for alms on the street or that he has claimed a little bit of love and care in my own home.

Teach me to be a true son of yours, a brother of my brother. Help me, Father, to know to receive your infinite love, and give me the grace to learn to receive the love that You have me.

“Say, “our Father”, he means to say: You give me the identity and you that you give me a family. It is so important the ability to forgive, to forget the offenses, that healthy practice of: “come on, let it be… who is in charge of the Lord,” and do not bear a grudge, resentment and desire for revenge. So if you’re going to pray and say only, “Father”, thinking of who has given you life and gives you the identity and loves you, and you say “our” forgiving all, forgetting the offenses, is the best prayer that you can do. In this context, it is requested to all the saints and to the Virgin mary, everything, but the foundation of prayer is the “our Father”.”

(Homily of S. S. Francis, June 16, 2016, in santa Marta).

Dialogue with Christ

This is the most important part of your prayer, be prepared to talk with a lot of love with the One who loves you.

Make it a personal one. The more love involved in response to the Beloved… or, if you think that is what God asks of you, live what you suggested below.

Today I am going to say two ‘our fathers’ by asking God for the grace to behave as a true son of yours and brother of the others.

We thank you, Lord, for all your benefits, You who live and reign for ever and ever.

Christ, our King!

Thy Kingdom come!

Virgin prudentísima, Mary, Mother of the Church.

Pray for us.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
