Relax and enjoy live music during lunch all summer every Tuesday and Thursday. Sean Heisey, FlipSidePA
It’s starting to sound like summer in Cherry Lane.
Live music returns to the downtown York park on Tuesdays and Thursdays through the end of August as part of the Box Lunch Revue concert series, according to a news release.
These free lunchtime shows are a great place to gather with friends, family or co-workers for a mid-day break from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Grab lunch to go from Central Market House or another nearby eatery and enjoy it while listening to music outside in the sunshine.
The concert series will feature a number of local acts as well as performers from as far as Nova Scotia, according to the release. You’ll hear a variety of genres, including jazz, folk, indie, country, classic hits, Celtic, Hawaiian, blues and cigar box guitar.
New performers this year include Cassie and Maggie MacDonald, Peter Bottros, Port Ellis, Shawan and the Won Ton, Crossing Abbey Road and Devix.
If it rains, most performances will be moved inside Central Market. Call 717-849-2217 or follow York City Special Events on Facebook or @YorkCityEvents on Twitter for updates. And, don’t forget to use the hashtag #BLRyork!
